In Ashburn Village, nature is never far from our front door. "The Village" is one of Northern Virginia’s most dynamic suburban neighborhoods, boasting nearness to the Metro and vibrant OneLoudoun yet enjoys the natural insulation of meandering lakes, wildlife glimpses, gardens, trail access, and plenty of places to picnic.

As a resident and REALTOR, I’ve always loved living in Ashburn Village - believing how a community cares for its natural places says a great deal about its values. I’m especially proud of Ashburn Village’s ongoing efforts to support bees and other pollinators—an initiative that blends environmental stewardship, education, beauty, long-term sustainability, and preserved property value.

A Thoughtful Approach to Growth

Over recent years, Ashburn Village's design balance has extended to intentional pollinator gardens, planted throughout the community, around lake areas and shared natural spaces.

These gardens are designed to do more than look gorgeous. They provide essential habitat for bees, butterfly nurseries, and other pollinators playing a critical role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

Educational signage posted throughout the community educates child and adult residents alike in all things "who are our nature neighbors and how can we support them".

It’s a subtle yet powerful reminder - even an urban-leaning community like Ashburn, can inspire us to make room for nature to thrive.

“Bee Kind” Seeds: A Small Way to Grow Together

To help neighbors feel connected to Ashburn Village’s pollinator project, I’m sharing mini packets of Bee Kind wildflower seeds—small envelopes filled with big purpose and possibility 🐝

This easy, uplifting way to participate allows you to simply plant seeds, carefully curated from Buzzy, and you’ll be supporting vital pollinator habitat right outside your door.

Each mini packet contains a blend of wildflowers for ongoing color and nourishment for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Whether tucked into a container, brightening a window box, or planted in a sunny garden bed, these seeds are designed to thrive with minimal effort and maximum reward—creating a healthier, more vibrant neighborhood one bloom at a time.

Pollinators Are Essential: The Fun Facts

girls in bee keeper gear look at honey comb in loudoun county
  • Nearly one-third of the food we eat relies on pollinators

  • Pollinated Plants = cotton, clothes, medicines, perfume, oils, and of course...honey

  • Pollinators support plant reproduction, biodiversity, and soil health

  • Pollinated plants mean fruit and seed meals for birds and mammals

Across Loudoun County, conservation groups and environmental agencies emphasize habitat loss as one of the greatest threats pollinators face.

Thoughtful landscaping and native plantings make an enormous difference.

In other words: A single garden bed.

A porch planter.

A patch of wildflowers.

They all count.

From Countryside to Community

My REALTOR home is with Hunt Country Sotheby's International Realty, a brand deeply rooted in Virginia’s rural landscapes, heritage, and sense of place. That connection to land, history, and stewardship is part of what drew me to the brand.

Living in Ashburn Village allows me to bring that same mindset into a more urban-forward setting—where growth and nature don’t have to compete, but instead can coexist beautifully.

Whether I’m helping clients buy or sell a home, or simply walking our neighborhood trails, I’m always thinking about what makes a place truly livable long-term.

Pollinator gardens, preserved green spaces, and community-led environmental efforts are part of that answer.

A Community Worth Putting Down Roots

Ashburn Village continues to show how intentional choices—large and small—shape a community’s real estate value and future. Pollinator gardens may seem like a modest effort, but their impact ripples outward: healthier ecosystems, more beautiful shared spaces, and a deeper sense of connection to where we live.

As someone who both lives here and works in real estate across Loudoun County, I believe these are the details that truly matter.

They’re what turn neighborhoods into communities—and houses into homes.

If you’ve planted your "Bee Kind" seeds, THANK YOU for being part of this effort!

Thinking about buying or selling in Ashburn or beyond, I'm here to help. 🐝🌿
